Aimed at the underwater diving market, this boat was developed in collaboration with the Platypus company which recently launched a prototype. The trimaran’s centre console is designed for two people and can be submerged two metres below the water’s surface. A breathing system using masks and a compressor enables the divers to spend up to ninety minutes below the waves without recourse to oxygen bottles.
In collaboration with CDO Innov, VPLP has designed a longer (6.8 m) production model built in carbon fibre which can carry up to five passengers, including four on the centre console.
With the console underwater, the boat can travel at 3 knots and provide, through an umbilical system connected to a compressor, breathing air for up to four hours.
The vessel features two engines (25–60 HP) and two very narrow floats which allow her to cut cleanly through the waves, thus providing greater stability in the swell.
