Maxi Banque Populaire V

Ultim racing trimaran Maxi Banque Populaire V then Spindrift 2 then Sails of Change

In 2007 Russell Coutts approached VPLP to design USA 17, the fastest racing sailing boat to contest the America’s Cup. Little did the team know that the project would take three years of relentless modifications, improvements and developments to produce a trimaran featuring 35 m floats and a 68 m pivoting wing mast! Proof of the pudding came in 2010 with victory over the Swiss catamaran Alinghi in both races of the 33rd America’s Cup in Valencia (Spain).

Multi23

The Multi23 is a 23’ production trimaran manufactured in China by Torpen International Boats. Easy to dismantle and built in vinylester (infusion) with carbon-fibre beams and appendices, the result is an affordable dayboat which can be sailed single-handed.

Groupama 2

Groupama 2 was the last ORMA class trimaran to be built, and the most titled. Skippered by Franck Cammas, she won most of the Grand Prix from her launch in 2004 until the end of the ORMA circuit, as well as the Transat Jacques Vabre in 2007.

Géant

Géant was the last trimaran of the 2000–02 generation designed by VPLP for skipper Michel Desjoyeaux, who had the 2002 Route du Rhum in his sights. The deadline was tight and the discussions between the architects and the recent victor of the Vendée Globe were very productive. There was nothing revolutionary about her structure, it being an assemblage of parts made in the moulds of her six predecessors.

Geronimo
