MOD 70

Multi One Design, trimaran MOD70

Smartboat

The remit for the Smartboat was to design an affordable yet modern 23’ single-hull motorboat. Her attention-grabbing lines are sleek and streamlined thanks to some very meticulous structural studies leveraging computational fluid dynamics (CFD). The goal was to enhance the boat’s movement through the water to generate minimal waves and wake, thus reducing the size of the engine and, ultimately, fuel consumption.

Boreas

This project from the drawing board was intended to be a variation of the catamaran super-yachts designed previously by VPLP. Her major features include her length (146’), her sturdiness (aluminium), a vast open-air flybridge with two steering wheels, and a spacious deck saloon with a glass bulkhead which contributes to optimizing her weight and thus improving her performance.

SIG 45

SIG is a range of luxury cruising catamarans designed to be fast, innovative and easy to handle. The intention is to make 60’ and 80’ versions available, but so far only the 45s have made it into production.

Multi23

The Multi23 is a 23’ production trimaran manufactured in China by Torpen International Boats. Easy to dismantle and built in vinylester (infusion) with carbon-fibre beams and appendices, the result is an affordable dayboat which can be sailed single-handed.

Friendship Ambulance

This boat is the fruit of a meeting in 2004 between Marc Van Peteghem and Yves Marre, co-founder of the NGO Friendship which provides assistance to the vulnerable populations of Bangladesh. Initially, the organization had shipped out a French barge to turn it into a floating hospital.

Lightspeed 32

he LIGHTSPEED 32 features all the latest sailing, engineering and construction innovations. She was developed by a team including former US Olympic 470 skipper Kristina Stookey, Alinghi’s chief engineer Dirk Kramers and the boatbuilders of the America’s Cup Class, as well as Stewart Wiley and Ted Brown of Al Fresco Composites.

Lagoon 3rd generation

This third generation, which includes the 440, 500, 420, 400, 421, 620, 560 and 450, featured an innovation new to the Lagoon range: the 440 was the first cruising catamaran to offer a modest flybridge, while the 560 was given what we would consider today to be a flybridge proper.

Lokeya

VPLP’s collaboration with the Saint Malo skipper and fisherman Franck-Yves Escoffier has been twofold, designing the 50’ trimarans Crêpes Whaou! 2 and 3, with which he won the Route du Rhum and the Transat Jacques-Vabre, as well as the 40’ aluminium fishing catamaran Lokeya (name derived from the first names of his three sons, Loïc, Kevin and Yannig).

TAJ

Launched in 2003, this classic 77’ catamaran was designed for sailing primarily in the Mediterranean and the West Indies.
