We Explore
Roland “Bilou” Jourdain’s catamaran We Explore is an Outremer 5X modified by Kaïros Environnement, the Outremer shipyard and VPLP Design. The brief was to use as many biomaterials as possible in her construction. In particular, the deck is to date the largest ever component made with flax fibres. All the fibres were sourced in France and woven by the Terre de Lin cooperative based in Normandy. A certain quantity of the foam is from recycled material.
Electric foiling catamaran
This flying catamaran features two electric motors, a single foil and two elevator rudders.
Excess 14
Following the lead of the Excess 11, her little sister, the Excess 14 is the fruit of a special design project for the brand. Architects VPLP Design were able to transpose technical developments from the racing world to refine the model’s hydrodynamics.
Persévérance
Resulting from a collaboration with Olivier Petit, architect of Antarctica (now Tara), the Persévérance is an ocean-going sailing supply ship designed for the icy waters around Antarctica. She is tasked with carrying relief crew and equipment to the Polar Pod, the future drifting oceanographic research station devised for Jean-Louis Étienne.
